Thanks for the confirmations. Now, I have to figure out what to do about it. I'm seriously considering predatory mites, but, need to check environmentals (primarily humidity) to see what specifically to get. That is assuming you can get them this time of year with the cold temps and all.

Yeah, it is, really. I tried to get some pics of them, but, wasn't happy with the clarity.

I cut this particular plant back to the main stem and hosed down every pepper plant in the house with insecticidal soap and it knocked them back pretty well (have reapplied several times to keep them at bay until they go back outside). The poblano was doing ok, had new leaves growing and everything, but, in the past week or two, the leaves have shriveled up and dropped. So, it may be a gonner.

mites killed all my garden last year,300+plants.
They are still here this year.
I don't know where they are comming from and are inside as well as out.
Seems I can only keep them at bay...

I tried a predator spider mite mix but they didn't work.
Tried neen,soap,malathion,dursban and several other poisons that said they kill mites but nothing works.
I either have resistant mites or they are somewhere I'm not spraying and just keep comming back.

I looked into the predator mites, but, at least while overwintering there's no way I could maintain the humidity levels required.

Since I didn't really have a problem outside, at least not a severe problem, I'm hopeful that things will sort themselves out once everyone moves to the garden.

I brought in 2 containered plants this past Fall without bare-rooting them or pruning or anything (one was oregano, the other the poblano pictured above). I suspect that's were they came from, but, who knows. Could have been in the potting mix I used after pruning.

They sure are hard to get rid of completely, though (not that I have, mind you). :-)

So far a combination of neem and soap sprayed in the morning and at night works better for me than poison did.
I hated resorting to poison.
Usually I have/had an established population of bennificials that take care of any problems I have had for the last 18 years.
First year in 18 I resorted to poison.

I had birds flying overheat dropping out of the sky if they flew over my garden from the fumes alone...

The only thing you can do is keep on top of them and cross your fingers.
If you stop the spraying for 4 days a whole new batch is born and your screwed again.

What about a HEAT gun? I bet you could toast the little guys without damage an adult plant.

Try also this: Add some garlic juice(from your own crushed garlics)to your neem oil recepie(neem oil, soap +garlic juice). I also add some hot pepper juice to it.Of course, I will use it as an All-purpose spray. Luckily I don't have miter problem. As I understand it, this recepie is just a deterent and probably will not destroy anything.

Insecticidal soap works better for me if I put a few drops of peppermint oil or cinnamon oil in it before I spray. Not peppermint spirit, but the actual oil you get at a natural foods store like Whole Paycheck.

This works on aphids, Japanese beetles, even grasshoppers, but I don't know about mites.

I use Doktor Doom go green spider mite knockout. A friend of mine who works at a nursery and has been gardening for many years recommended it to me. It works great, and it can be used even if the plants are flowering, and 1 to 2 days before harvest; though I'd be scared to use it that soon. I have no idea about the humidity levels though, it's very humid where I live.
