Chopping down on your home grown nanners,drinking a cold one with your bird Vinnie,grilling pork chops for supper!!!

Nanners starting to take off.

Coconut palms all 3 have new spears,even after hitting temps in low 40's for a few nights since they have been outside since April 12th.

Planted the 15ft Queen first week of April it saw one night of snow,as well as the red Ensete bananas,didn't hurt them at all,took on the chin they did!!!!

Not just your cookies! lol That's why I wouldn't let anyone other than another ponder help me clean up my top pond and split the lilies. I had offers of help, but unless you are a true ponder you can't deal with sludge, algae, dirty finger and toe nails, etc. I remember when I had to take pieces parts of my four shubunkins out of the intake valve of my pump. One of my big koi was dead in the skimmer this spring and I smelled it before I found it. It really took a lot not to blow chunks that day. I swear that dead fish smell was on my hands and clothes for days even though I used a net and a piece of PVC pipe to pry it out. By the time I was done most of it was floating on the surface of the pond. Yes I think ponding is an art. Just like in nature. Only the strong survive. Jenny

Well, I feel like you all have grabbed me by the ankles and dragged me back on the field. (Maybe that's because I've been watching football. Go, Bucs!) If you want the filler to not be as visible you need to tint it before finishing the wood. A test piece is finished to determine how the wood will look when finished. The filler can then be tinted, and another test piece (I usually use the back of the original one) with some tinted filler made up. You may have to adjust the tint to allow for the finish that will be used. If the wood has significant figure you may need to paint or draw figure on the filler. It comes down to how large the filler areas are and how well you want to hide the.

Melissa, I haven't been in GardenWeb in a very long time - and even then, I'm usually a lurker in the Garden forums. We are starting our remodel on our kitchen, master bath and bedroom, so I wanted to see if there were any ideas out there that I could steal because it feels so overwhelming right now, trying to make the right decisions. Yes I have a 4x8 plot of dirt right inside the door of the greenhouse.I have a epippyhllum,couple Ti plants,Majesty palm and a Cavendish banana planted,been 7 months waiting on these bananas to ripen,I've been picking a few every since first of march,and let me add,there is no comparison to store bought nanners,these are absolutely delicious.

Thanks,we've had so much rain and cool weather,things have really been slow to get started.last week we hardly got to the 50's,tropicals need the warm soil,to really get going good,but instead the soil temps haven't been much over 55*.
Lots of farmers,may have to replant there corn fields,do to all the rain and cold weather this spring,lot of the wheat fields didn't produce much yields do to the,dry winter,and the spring rains came a little to late to help much.
But warm weather is on it's way,80's here all week long!

We've got the same trouble up here. We've gotten so much rain that the farmers haven't been able to even get their equipment on the fields. Nothing has been planted yet and it's nearly June! It's definitely the wettest year I remember, and in addition to all that it's been unseasonably cool (just like last year). I'm really hoping that this summer will really heat up, I honestly don't remember the last time it reached 90..
