HELP!!! My Washingtonia Robusta

Help! My Washingtonia Robusta is potted and outside for the summer and will be brought in for the cold winters of New England. At the edge of one of the Robusta's fronds it is a little yellow and brown. Its been around the high 40 degrees at night to low 50's and at day its been 60 degrees to 70 degrees. Should my Robusta be inside until the temperature hits the 80's? What's happed to the fronds??? Thanks, Palmlover1

I doubt it's solely from weather. Mine has been in the ground for almost 2 months now and we've had similarly bad weather, even a few frosts since putting it in. My guess is acclimatization. Did you bring it out from the inside and set it in full blazing sun? I gradually introduce all of my plants outside over a period of about 2-3 weeks increasing sun exposure as time goes on. Otherwise, the leaves will get bleached. If this is the problem, it's temporary and the newer leaves will be fine.

Well I did my research on the internet, and I found out that it is a fungal infection. I cut off all the fronds that had any spots on it, and now all I'm left with is a young frond that was coming out of the spear. Now that I've cut off the other fronds, is the danger over for the young frond? There aren't any spots on it that I can see, but is there some kind of chemical I should spray on it just to make sure it doesnt get sick?

Washingtonia are pretty much desert palms, so watering it once per week is plenty! Maybe once per week is too much. You can see them growing like weeds in Las Vegas in dry cracks along the sidewalks and roads, and they hardly get ANY moisture, ever. When in doubt, purchase an inexpensive soil moisture meter and only water it when it's getting close to being dry. Never water it if the moisture meter still says "wet". Good luck!

I think at that rate you will see at least 2-3 more leaves.Looks like the heat off your wall is really pushing that washys buttons for growth,very nice!
