Ah, used to be a member years ago. I'd be interested in rejoining except that I don't think anyone meets out near Athens.

Mrs. Frodo, I'll let you keep your first-born child! lol The tomato plants are rather large, and except for taking a beating from the wind a little now & then, and getting too dry once or twice, they've been fine. My driveway will be quite lonely once they leave our home for yours (grinning). The four o'clocks and black-eyed susan vine are still available, and I'm bringing lots of each. The verbena bonariensis forms a mound about one foot in diameter. Then very thin, tall stalks shoot up. At the top of the stalks you will have tiny cluster of lilac-colored flowers. The stalks also branch out some, and flowers form on each branch. The bees and butterflies fight over the flowers. If you deadhead by cutting the flowering stalks off near the ground, the plant will re-bloom over and over again. It is a very light and airy plant, amazingly tough and drought-resistant. Sometimes reseeds itself. I've attached a link with a picture of verbena for your viewing pleasure. And, what am I looking for? Just about any herb or veggie. Or flower. Or anything else. I'm not picky and I like trying new things, so anything you have to trade is fine. And, if you run out of things to trade, that's fine too. Thanks for the head's up on this one Susan!!! DH and I went today and boy did we get some good deals. A tropical Hibiscus that's aout 3 ft tall for $15!!!!! WOW!! I think the woman that was helping us was Mrs. Satterlee becuase she kept telling people that she had decided to retire. She said that the final day of business will be Tues or Wed, and then next weekend there will be a public auction for whatever is left. I think DH is finally getting on board with gardening and plants. It's always been "my thing" but today...OMG I had to hold him back, he found a 6 ft tall ficus, 2 varigated boxwoods, some ivy, 2 clay containers, and a big red tropical thing that I can't remember the name of... He definately has an eye for the tropicals, which is fine, maybe he won't complain so much this year when he's having to carry them all inside after it starts getting cooler out. LOL!!

COME ONE, COME ALL! I just came back from Green Acres, our Aransas/San Patricio Master Gardeners demo gardens. We are set up for our big spring plant sale for this Saturday, March 17, from 9 till 1. We have some really great looking plants, including 57 flats of herbs just delivered today looking great and smelling even better. We have lots of natives, tropicals, ornamental grasses, and many more. We also have citrus, orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime trees. If you are interested in them, I will suggest that you get there before the gates open. People start lining up around 8 and wait until we open the gates and then they rush in. And with the weather looking great, we are hoping for a great sale. See you all there!
