Tomatoes thyme... leafe curl droop problem?
Comments (8)OK, so I've been doing a bunch of reading around the web and am starting to get a picture of what may be wrong with these little toms. Underside of leaves are purple on older leaves but not the veins... may well be a nute deficiency? Also checked my conversion from PPM to EC and with my meter it's at EC of 1-1.2 (around 500PPM) So upped the nutrients but now the leaves started to curl up... before the new leaves on one plant where curling down! Seriously confusing, figure I'll up the nutes to 600 and if they don't look better by tomorrow then it may be too many nutes? so flush them for a few hours with 0PPM water and go to half nutes? Would seriously appreciate help with this if someone has an idea what's going wonky with these toms. Here's an update on the pics: https://picasaweb.google.com/115767471934312712818/Hydro?authuser=0amp;feat=directlink Here is a link that might be useful: Pictures...See MoreTerrible Tomatoes leaf curling please help identify problem

Comments (18)For anyone interested in my findings ... as stated in my previous note Purdue Senior Plant Disease Diagnostician forwarded my samples to Dr. Allen Hammer in Horticulture. I received a soil test report with readings for pH, Soluble Salts, Nitrate, Phosphorus, Potassium, Ammonium, Ca and Mg. His additional notes are "N and K are very low. Ca is low. I do not think the symptoms look like a nutrition problem. The very low levels in sample 2 (this was the curled leaf sample) may be a temporary reading as the plants do not show those levels at this point." So virus has been ruled out and no fungal or bacterial pathogens were found. Here's a picture I took yesterday of one of my two remaining Mom's Paste tomatoes that had the curled leaves and looked just like the cherry tomato pictured above. So this is one month later and you can see the new growth doesn't have curled leaves. The bottom line is I don't have an answer as to why the curled leaves on three plants at that point in their growing stage....See MoreThought On Tomato Leaf Curl Problem
Comments (3)I have this issue and I've read it can be caused by several things but is often not an issue in the ultimate health of the plant. I've also read that it is most common in determinate and early varieties. I have a Kimberly that has terribly curled leaves just like in your photo, but is otherwise healthy and putting on tomatoes like crazy. None ripe yet but nearly every blossom has set, which is not the case for my other uncurled plants. I am trying not to worry about it, but it does look bad....See Morebaymeo25
