Full StoryAbout six years ago I bought a 10 gallon fishtail palm to plant in the garden. There were three plants in the pot, I guess I just assumed it was clumping caryota (caryota mitis)but no new offshoots ever grew and the three palms got bigger and developed trunks. So now I'm wondering what I have.
Caryota urens? Caryota gigas? Other? Any guesses? I'm thinking of digging the three up, separating them and planting individually but would help to know how they're likely to grow in the future.
