Looks like it could be a sabal minor. I have a McCurtain County cultivar, and the leaves look very much like that, mainly stiff and upright. Mine grows way faster than any normal Minor, growing 5 new leaves last summer, even though it was transplanted earlier that spring.

Sabal Louisiana also is, I believe, the fastest-growing sabal, or at least fast for sabal standards.

I think Riverside is just a cultivar of regular palmetto, so the fronds should droop at an early age, doesn't look like yours does.

Anyway, looks like sabal minor to me. I am not an expert, and am not from the south, but from what I've studied, that's my thoughts. BTW, sabal minor also gets that deep divide down the center of the leaf, especially when young.

I am pretty sure it is not a minor. The parent plant was about 12' tall and sold as a bermuda. Looks pretty clear that it is not a bermuda. Here are a few more pics.

Texas sabal ?

OK yeah, not a minor. It's starting to form a trunk. What gallon size pot is it in? Maybe its a Birmingham. If that's the case, you probably got a great deal. They're worth big bucks. Birminghams are probably mature at a 12 foot size, but grow up to about 20 feet. Louisianas I believe only grow to about 9 or 10 feet max.

Where did you buy it? Where in the country? May be helpful in solving this riddle.

Sabal Mexicana? It looks similar to XTexensis without the blue tint.

I also had sabal Mexicana in the back of my mind. They have those tall, skinny trunks, and the specimen in question looks like its forming a trunk pretty quickly, especially for how young it is. I don't think Mexicana leaves split down the middle though. It's gotta be some type of Minor cross.

I got it from a guy in Florida as a "big" 1 gallon at the end of June. I potted it up to a 7 gallon right after I got it. Since then it has pushed out 2 new fans and a new spear is ready to open. The parent palm was a good 12' tall at 8 years old I do believe. He also said he bought it as a sabal bermuda, but thought it was mis-tagged. The fans are totally different than a bermuda. Unfortunitly I do not know how to contact him. All I know is the off spring of this palm is pretty fast growing. I have a few true palmetto, birmingham, riverside, lousiana, minor and royal palmetto. This palm out grows them all.

You are correct. It does not have any blue tint to it. I also have some Texensis. Mine have the blue tint, much like a riverside or birmingham. I can see no minor traits in this palm at all.
