I love those flowers, not a lot of ignea but they look terrific.

I use my laptop exclusively, I don't have a smart phone. And I stay logged in. And I don't often have all the issues others seem to have, but there are issues. Threads that I respond to, that I should have an email notification on, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I might see a couple of email notifications and then fine 8 notifications on the site. Yesterday, I tried to use the links on the left side of the page where I have selected certain forums that I visit on a regular basis, and they failed to bring me to that forum. I tried multiple times. I did find another way finally to get to that forum. And I'm looking at the web address window right now on this thread, and it is houzz dot com, not garden web dot com. And I arrived here by clicking the link in the notification window for the responses that have been made since I posted. But in trying to put some meat to some of the issues here at Houzz, I did do a google search for 'Houzz difficulties'. I did find links to some of the threads that have user complaints in them. I found a link to a report of Houzz being hacked back in 2019. Then there was a report I read in April about layoffs at Houzz. I also read an employee's account of being laid off without notice right before Christmas at some point. So more than once they have laid off people. Houzz From my perspective, as a Gardenweb user, I find the activity on the Gardenweb forums is very quiet in comparison to what it used to be. I don't enjoy the way the website operates. I put up with it, is about the best I can say. And too many people find difficulty using the site. Sooner or later, people get tired of the frustration and find another place to frequent. Any company like Houzz, that is purported to be a 4Billion dollar company, and their entire business is an interactive website, should run easily and well across all platforms, in my opinion. And I really think they do not care about the Gardenweb forums. I suspect that they thought there would be a crossover of garden web users to the Houzz site and it's been a disappointment in that regard. So they care even less.

Hi Folks , just taking a moments break from digging and weeding . I am removing a path between 2 gardens and turning it into one garden ( reduces the amount of push mowing my hubby has to do . I have to remove the hostas , weeds etc and then that gives me spots to move and plant daylilies that didn't bloom this year due to being in too much shade . I have done this in several spots here this summer . UGH ! it is a big job. Kay , Wow , such Iovely images ! Thanks for sharing . I fell in love with your image of Heart of Glass and went to look up more info on it . (ugly acronym for a beautiful flower !). ' I am hoping for rain on Sunday and some cooler temps next week after that perhaps I will get some rebloom. I dug up a fairly mature Rose of Sharon and moved it and so have been keeping it well watered which I can't do everywhere being on a well but I have the daylily Batman growing near and for the first time EVER I have a rebloom scape on it !!! It has got to be the watering .

We have had induction for nine years and we love it. But we are not slam-the-pots-and-skillet type cooks, though. We came from electric coil burners, and one cannot get away with doing that on those without consequences. We already had the cast iron skillets and correct line of All-Clad pots, so did not have to change cookware, either. Gas has its advantages; there is a reason people love it. However, cleaning the gas grates, etc. was a big reason we didn't install gas, in spite of family and friends who love their gas ranges/cooktops. Nine years later and age-related arthritis in my hands, I am really glad I don't have gas. And the kitchen never gets hot from a flame burner, which is really nice in our summer climate. And induction is so darned easy to clean. A clean fresh dishrag and some Method brand all-purpose cleaner (make sure it includes "glass" on the list of things it cleans) and it's done in a minute. Yep, that is about as much work as I want to put into cleaning a cooktop. Big down-side is you can't roast marshmallows over induction. LOL
