Jo, What a great thread. Thanks for starting it. You listed my favorite--Duck Creek Farms, and I'd like to add that if anyone wants to buy sweet potato slips, they are the one thing Gary does ship. Mine last year were beautiful and healthy when they arrived in May and I just did my best to grow them and not screw them up because they certainly were in wonderful condition when they arrived.

Leava's soaps are amazing. They are pretty and smell delicious and are gentle on your overworked gardener's skin.

A favorite of mine is Sunrise Acres Farm in Blanchard. They sell plants at the OKC Farmer's Market and also at their farm. I'll link their website below. On their website you can see their variety list (they do sell some heirloom tomato varieties), directions to their farm and their Farmer's Market Schedule.

If anyone knows of pick-your-own orchards or farms, I hope y'all will list them here too.

I can also vouch for Sunrise Acres. We've used their transplants the last few years. Their prices are very reasonable and their plants are always very healthy.
Even us newbies couldn't kill them! They will be at the new Newcastle Farmer's Market this year as well as the OSU/OKC market.

I can also vouch for Sunrise Acres. They have been my backup for the last few years for seeds that don't germinate. And their prices are reasonable. It was cheaper to purchase three tomato plants from them, then to order one package of seeds from yet another vendor just to get my husbands favorite variety.

Punkinhead, not to disrespect Head Country, but my favorite BBQ sauce is Sweet Spirit. They are at the OSU-OKC farmer's market everty Sat and will be at the Cheasapeke market on Weds in OKC. FYI the medium (our choice) can be on the hot side of spiciness.

Thanks for the heads up about Sunrise Acres! I've lived in Blanchard for about five years now and I had no idea they existed. Will definitely check them out.

Well, if we're talking about Barbecue Sauce and products, I gotta mention "Lotta Bull". This is made by some competitive barbaque folks (4 time world champions Mike and Debbie Davis) who are neighbors of ours and who are great supporters of our local VFD. Their products are so good, and the food they cook is out of this world too.

We always have at least one bottle of Head Country around here. I also love Sunrise Acres--they grow some really delicious broccoli.

We love Snider Farms for peanuts and peanut butter. The peanuts taste so much better than any others I've had. You can order through the coop or their site. I've also seen the peanut butter at the OSU-OKC market.

Speaking of peanuts, does anyone know of a local source for raw peanuts, preferably in the central OK area? I checked the Snider Farms Peanut Barn site and it doesn't look like they offer raw peanuts. We fell in love with boiled peanuts a few years ago on a visit to Charleston, SC and love to make them, and they say it's best to use raw peanuts if possible.

I'm another long-time fan of Head Country BBQ sauce but the others mentioned here sure sound interesting. We'll have to give them a try.

I have a bag of raw spanish peanuts in the freezer. They are from Lasley Family Farm in Eakly, OK. I would have gotten them either from the OSU-OKC farmers market (probably via Earth Elements) or the Food coop. There are two phone numbers listed on the bag 405-797-3698 and 405-797-3352.

There's a place that I drive by every day to get home that sells pecans and boiled peanuts called "Mason's Pecans and Peanuts". Their website doesn't say much, but they do boil their own peanuts and it might be worth a call to see whether they sell raw peanuts as well. I added their link below.

Love love love Mason's. And if you want some beer to go with those peanuts, Krebs Brewing produces 1919 (can be found at some local liquor stores) as well as Meers Gold Beer which is fresh and citrusy in flavor (can be found at Meers Store and Restaurant).

We always go berry picking at Berry Creek out in the Chouteau/Locust Grove area each June. Love them.

I love the Summerside Vineyard and Winery in Vinita - their Raspberry and Blackberry wines are so yummy!

We really like Smokinfoods.com barbecue spice rub (a few guys from Tulsa who are into Barbecue competitions make and sell this.)

For non-food items, my neighbor is the owner of Spiffy Spoonz (www.spiffyspoonz.com) and I *love* her products. They make terrific gifts items.

Thank you miraje and mrsfrodo for the info on the peanuts! I've bookmarked Mason's website, it looks like they have lots of yummy things and it would be worth a trip down that way to check them out. And we go to the OSU-OKC farmers market sometimes, so I'll be on the lookout for the peanuts there too. Since peanuts are a local crop I figured there had to be some sources for them around here. Thanks again!!
