? Concerning growing squash plants in containers

An older friend of ours has a garden at our home farm at Coweta and last year he grew some squash plants in containers there and had no problems at all with them. He had some problems with squash bugs and bores in the plants that were in his garden beds. I was wondering if he was just lucky with the container plants or are they less prone to have problems with squash bugs and bores. (The containers I'm talking about are the plastic cattle lick tubs).

I've planted some onions, tomatoes, and peppers in tubs this year and I was thinking about putting some squash in them (especially if you guys can give me some good news about the bugs). Thanks, Joe - Wagoner, Oklahoma.
