I would love some gomphrena fireworks seed and gomphrena purple as well as zinnia cactus pink I have Hosta blue umbrella, Sun Power, Humpback whale, Hosta Paradigm Hosta Yosemite Valley, All are open pollinated. All have some chaff. Let me know

Yes Nan, the photo was actually taken in 2006. This is only about 1/4 of the hosta garden area. Imagine seeing this with the hostas mowed to the ground. :O( I am getting ready to remove them and this year have winter sown more Astilbes, Digitalis, Eupatoriums, Aquilegias, and Thalictrums. I also have seeds coming of Arisaema Consanguineum, a form of Jack In The Pulpit which has huge leaves. I will be winter sowing them as soon as they arrive. Newly planted in the fall were Ostrich Ferns as well as Japanese Painted ferns. If I can't beat them this year, I will be armed for next year!!

Here's what Trudi's website has to say. Hosta - wintersown.org I sowed over 200 seeds from a variety of hosta including many from trades. So far, all of mine seem to be green or various shades. None seem to be truly variegated. So I think it has to do with how they are pollinated. If you can cross pollinate variegated hosta only, you might have better luck. Get a brush, collect pollen from one flower and spread it to others. Maybe someone else can tell us if hosta plants can self pollinate.
