Maybe it wasn't a rabbit...

that nipped the tops off of a dozen of my newly planted peas in the garden. I set a tray of them in the front yard on a folding table the other day and when I went to bring them in, the tops of three of them had been removed, cut right off. The tops weren't laying on the tray either; they were just gone. Couldn't have been rabbits or cutworms or deer (deer get into the garden at night but wouldn't dare come into the yard in daylight with the dogs awake) So what was it? A bird maybe? Any ideas anyone?
