With plants in the ground, my best guess would be deer, rabbits, field or woods mice, voles or birds.

With plants in the front yard on the table, my best guess would be birds. I cannot imagine the deer would come close to a yard with dogs nearby.

Maybe squirrels if they're a problem on your property. We have so many native plants the squirrels like, they've never bothered my garden but they do come into the yard and visit the bird feeders occasionally, though not often.

It was a clean cut. I hadn't thought of a squirrel, but there are squirrels in the yard all the time and the dogs pretty much ignore them.

Dh spread more blood meal in the garden after yesterday morning's rain, so I hope I don't lose any more. I raise only Sugar Snaps and Super Sugar Snaps, but reading your list makes me think of trying more varieties next year.

I brought some plants in last night, while I was going out to get more, our little dog was having a salad. He got three Chinese cabbage. They were on the floor and not pushed up under the lights yet.

Most of my experimentation with green peas was with the shelling types because I was looking for a variety that would produce enough peas to make growing it here worthwhile. As I'm sure you'd agree, there aren't any that produce heavily enough in our climate so I don't grow the shelling green peas at all anymore.

With the edible-podded peas, I've always been perfectly happy with Sugar Snap and Super Sugar Snap so haven't experimented with many others. However, when I saw Opal Creek Yellow and Summer Blush in the Nichols Garden Nursery catalog this winter, I was intrigued by the idea of having peas of a different color. Hopefully their flavor and production will be good as well because otherwise they won't be invited back to the garden no matter how pretty they are.

Since I like heirloom vegetables in other categories, I started looking for an heirloom sugar snap pea, and found the one at Seeds From Italy. Since I was ordering bean and tomato seeds from them, I added the French heirloom variety to my order.

I bought Cascadia off the seed rack last winter intending to plant it for last spring's crop, but never got around to it. It has been so slow to sprout and grow in comparison to the others that I don't have a good first impression of it so far. I like pea plants that leap out of the ground and grow like mad so I can get a big harvest before the hot weather arrives. If Cascadia finishes the season as slowly as it has started, this will be its only appearance in our garden.

That's the story of how I ended up with six kinds of peas....it wasn't really a plan but just sort of evolved. So far the Spring Blush plants are the prettiest pea plants I've ever seen. They essentially look the same as other snap pea plants but have a blush of a rosy-pink shade right at the leaf nodes. I'm really looking forward to seeing the blossoms and pea pods.

We used to have a dog that ate cherry tomatoes. I was blaming the kids for eating them before I could pick them. Then one day saw the dog sticking his nose as far through the squares in the wire as he could get and picking the tomatoes.

Give us a pea report and I may try something new too. I have never been an adventurous gardener. Being interested in only the bottom line, how much does it produce, I have usually found something good and just stuck with it. So for years bought most of my seed from the local feed store because they were the tried and true varieties for the area. Then found this site... Still grow my favs, but trying to make room to experiment and finding some new keepers--Black Cherry tomatoes and Poona Keera cucs and the beans and corn George blessed me with. (Sorry George, Glenn vetoed the pumpkin because of the squash bugs, said he would rather have sweet potatoes to fill that niche.)
