Well thanks to a post by Dawn in the FQA I now have a use for those cat wreaked mini blinds ...100's of plastic plant stake labels.

Card board egg cartons make great fire starters for charcoal bickettes.

Save those egg shells then grind them up to add to the garden soils for texture and calcium which many plants like tomatos need.

Those plastic dome and tray sets from roast chickens and baked goods make grerat mini green houses to start seeds in jiffy pellets.

All manner of styro and plastic to go boxes are great for sharing your garden bounty. A select sampler of jewels is far more welcome than a 10 lbs bag of over grown mutants dumped on their door at midnight.

MY FAV: After the elections collect all those signs and wire hoops to reuse. The thin hoops are great plant stakes and props. The large 4x3 steel hoops make good frames for plastic or row cover green houses. The corrigated plastic sheets have many uses. Some signs are staked to 4 ft re-bar , very useful for supporting tomato cages. The campaigns will never collect this "trash" so put it to good use.

You may be tempted to disinfect these materials because of the smell, but it is not neccesary
