They are holding well.
I've a couple babies that are still almost like they were
in early summer.

It was 42 degrees this morning and most are starting
to show some signs of seasons end. I gotta say at this stage ... with so much work
still to do that I'm ready for the season to be over. The gardens just aren't
as much fun in all the miserable weather.

Those are so pristine it looks like you touched them up! I take it you use mega slug bait?

It's still pretty warm here (on and off) so I'm still planting and planting and blah blah blah. I'm kind of burned out too. I'm at the point where I'm jamming plants in any patch of dirt that I see and say "I'll move it next spring".

LOL ... I should have included a few pics of the
total meltdowns ... just for Karma balance. There's
a few of them here. Thinderbolt went from pristine to gone in about a week. Right in front of the ADG is an Island Charm with leaves like netting and if you look closely you'll see that the Lungwort has a few leaf holes. (Not all from slugs) I've used one bottle of Sluggo in two years ... but plenty of ammonia spray.

Regal Splendor & a baby Francee are actually the two best preserved still but they're in a spot that the Honeysuckle vine thats overhead makes it difficult to get a good pic.

The birds with nests under the overhang have 'fertilized'
everything underneath them this summer. That area needs
a makeover badly. One of the downsides to hybridizing is the messy look of the scapes not being trimmed back.

Hopefully there will be a good bout of Indian Summer before frost and I can make a little extra garden time. Move a few and freshen things.

And like you said .... whatever doesn't get done will have to hold til next spring.

I was eyeballing the north side of the neighbors house near my driveway yesterday. There it sits, not a plant in site...just that pesky grass! Beulah Land.

When I was taking those pics yesterday, I realized I had officially "crossed over", Curtis. I was planning where I could plant trees to shade my sun gardens so I could put in more hostas! LOL

Yup ... read the 'do over' thread. Planting trees now is a pretty good idea. Your Hostas are still mostly babies and three yeaars growth on a few shade trees will make a huge difference when they really need it.
