Great Land of the Giants order....

Working with Jeff from Land of the Giants has been a treat. Every order has been correct, prompt and the plants huge. Here's my shipment from today. Gunthers Prize, Dorothy Benedict, Urban Cowboy, Jewel of the Nile, Hiroa Supreme and Atlantis. Oh, and a gift from Jeff.....Blizzard.

Good to hear that LOTG is shipping. They are in zone 4, so hostas are late there. That 'Sagae' really is a beauty. LOTG usually shipped me big ones when the hostas were older cultivars with mature clumps existing there. After I get my hostas, I usually pot them up, before I really decide where to place the plants. That LOTG is shipping, that is good news, will show a picture here too. I am not used to having so much class in my garden! I may need to require people to put a neck tie on before entering. My Dorothy has a flower spike in coming so I will be VERY sure to put prospective love matches for her within pollinating distance ;) Ken, I was amazed at how turgid many of my plants were! No tape needed! Here are Dorothy and IAT standing at salute! Seducer however... not very seductive and required ample scaffolding... Will post more pics as I get plants situated. First year garden so a lot of moving around to find the right spot! Margaret

if you need more time... BTW.. absolve hubby.. he had other things on his mind ... like YOU .. rather than the hosta.. crikey .... have him fill a wheelbarrow with some moist soil.. or even better potting media.... and you could hold them in total shade .. for a month ... especially if your wheelbarrow has rusted holes.. like mine.. and would drain rain water .. in the alternative.. dig one hole... maybe 2 by two feet... and stick them all in there.. and let ma nature HOLD THEM OVER ... until you can get it done right ... focus on YOU .. not the hosta.. blimey ... hope your recovery is as fast as can be ... ken ps: plant ann kulpa as GE... lots of white there... too much shade.. and she will disappear in a few years ... pps: i like the way you blame others.. for your purchases ... lol ... been there.. done that ...

Nice NOID bunga. No idea what it is but I know I like it. Like you there's something about apple green that grabs me. It's a great color that pops when surrounded by dark green. Give me an apple green leaf with a white, blue or dark green margin and I'm happy. So bunga, did you specify how many divisions you wanted to purchase or did Jeff just quite you a price for a big plant? Being that the tokudamas have been around for a long time it was probably easier for him to send you those monsters. I was happy just to get Gunthers Prize, Blizzard and Dorothy Benedict from him and was pleasantly surprised with how large they were for plants not commonly available but they aren't near the size of your instant classics. Seeing yours is tempting me to place the same order next week! The pressure will be on Jeff to duplicate it!

You mean planting them in the expansion joints of the driveway isn't a good idea? I'll only park over them at night so as not to shade them too much. Oh Ken, I'll send the ill Urban Cowboy when I recieve one of your yellow Wu's.

Thanks Donna. Now that I've blown my hosta budget for the year I'll only be able to order another twenty or so " must haves"!
