Dayton area bargain hunters

I went by the Spring Hill Nursery garden store today; they had a ton of oriental/asiatic/orienpet lilies in quart pots for fifty cents each!! Yellows, pink, peach, wine, red, and orange. The asiatics are about done blooming but most of the orienpets had fat buds --most not labeled though so you won't know what you are getting til the buds open.

Tall garden phlox in quart pots were a dollar. The few remaining bare root plants were marked down further too--50 cents instead of a dollar. There were still some coneflower, double daylilies (night embers, youangelyou, others), echinops ritro, asters. Big bags of their "glamini" gladioli were $4.99.

Lots of "grab bag" potted daylilies and butterfly bush for $1 too.

I've had only fair luck with the clearance bareroots over the years, but the potted items have done well.

They said that they would be having their "big" sale over father's day weekend. I don't think they did this last year - I will have to go check it out. Not that I really need anything!
