What happened in your garden this week - April 10th?

As usual, not as much as I thought would happen... But I did take care of my front maples, watering them extra after the rains this week to make sure all the salt of the road was leached down. Then rebuilding the sidewalk, with homemade compost, and reseeding the sidewalk lawn. Reseeding also the whole garden with lawn.

Our town didn't use sand mixed in with salt whis year. They used just salt and a humectant. It's much less work to rework the sidewalk (which is made of grass only) when there is not all that sand to remove. But I wonder if this is better for the trees. I have 150 year old maples in one part of the sidewalk, which require a lot of TLC, and the rest of the sidewalk is lined with younger maples.

I am glad the weather stayed cool this week, and therefore, despite my meager efforts, I still have the upper hand on the garden in early April. If I can just hang on till late June, I'll be glad!
