Pretty pic. I think I like looking at deer in photos. Our neighbor had one jump the fence into her garden, munched down all of her lilies.

Yes, they start with small tastes, but now your yard is a source of food for them and as natural sources become scare, they will keep returning and eat more and more.

Stinkies are actually very easy to photograph, they are very easy tempered, as long as you don´t get overly exited and scare them.

Skunks are good. They eat grubs and voles.

My visitor - he walks through the fence a couple times a year.

Very lucky, I'd say. My deer eat leaves and all. Gunsmoke got hit twice this summer, all down to nubs now. Poor baby. Same with TRex. He'll never get to be a big boy at this rate.

A pellet gun will deliver a nice sting without doing any long-term damage to a deer. I like to give them reason to eat in my neighbor's gardens.

The former owner of our house used a pellet gun to deter a rabbit who was munching on his vegie garden, he was spotted after he dinged the bunny by a neighbor. The game warden paid him a visit the next day and gave him a ticket with a hefty fine for shooting rabbits out of season.

I'll stick with Deer-Off, it seems to work well on our deer. They have been sticking to the apples from our tree and leave the gardens that I treated with DO alone for the most part.

Woodthrush I hear that skunks eat slugs too. That bear pic is frightening!!

We have a family of deer that trek through our woodland by the creek. Occasionally they come up to the house areas. I noticed momma sampling some annabelle bushes, some elderberry trees and my newly planted playcodons. the platycodons were mowed to the ground! Must be a favorite.

Hostas? Untouched year after year. I didn't even know deer liked hosta until I found this forum and read all the horror stories!

I must be lucky. But watch, now that I have come to appreciate my hosta, my luck will probably change! Gotta respect mother nature...
