Marcia, I thought you lived in Thunder Bay... wow I really did drive past your place, mind you that was at least 7 years ago. Wanna know how embarassingly lost I was? I was going to Rushing River - DUH! Missed the turn! Motherduck, that sounds like a great camera. I was hoping to get something in the sorta $300-$400 range. Just to keep up with the Jonses you know... if you've seen some of the horrible fuzzy pics I have posted here...

Well heres the latest report from this side of Colorado! Spring has definitely un-sprung around here! Its 5 in my backyard right now, and still going DOWN! And INSIDE of my house the furnace has been running for almost three hours nowand its all the way up to 63! All last weekwhen it was WARMmy furnace was running just fine! I had to get up at 0400 on Sunday morningand discovered that my furnace QUIT sometime over nite! So at 4:00 in the morning, when Im supposed to be getting ready to leave for the airport, Im running around a cold house trying to figure out whats wrong with the furnace. The pilot lite was on, and the fan and the thermostat worked just fine. If the thermocouple goes out, the pilot lite goes out! Everything worked exceptthe burner wouldnt come on! So Im stumped! I left at 0600 with a little lamp under the kitchen sink, where the pipes are on the outside wall, and an oil filled radiator on near the computer! I left the thermostat turned up while I was goneI guess hoping for magic!!! Spent the nite last nite in a WARM hotel in Newark, and got back home early this afternoon. The temp in the house was 49 when I got back! Asked the neighbor to come look at it, but he agreed with meall the obvious things were working. He recommended somebody to calland the guy came right over! I found that kind of amazing! The neighbor said he thought it was a gas valve, and he was right! An hourand $300later I heard the burner come on again! And its been running ever since then! Heats a GOOD thing when its cold outside! But I didnt think of the Blackie sweet potato vines I have in the front windowtouching the glassbefore I left and theyre not happy AT ALL right now! Im overwintering a couple again this year to keep from having to buy more in springand I hope they make it! Wish I had thought to at least move them away from the cold window before I left! Okay, here's the start. I made this too hard. The first pic is of Cheryl....cnetter. She brought a great salad and the plants to create it. Next is YAGO...go see his explantion on the name. We thoroughly enjoyed a guy with us, especially him, he was great to have around and put up with all our chatter. "Our Mentor" is Skybird...Dee. Petite, so darn organized, she puts us all to shame. Love her in person as much as here on RMG. Voice of Spring is our host "Charlene", SingCharlene. And she does "sing". Both her and her husband have CDs out which you can do a search on ITunes if you want to listen. She gave out CDs to each of us....a sweet voice and wonderful music. Deck the Halls is "LindyLoo". A teeny, cute little lady that gardens on the deck. I have been intrigued with her gardening since knowing she grows raspberries in pots. She brought tons of seeds and veg. plants. Find the first 3: is Nancy my ride, the rose lady and a wonderful laid back easy going gal. Our lady is "Billy_Ladybug". She had deviled eggs from her chickens...we kept eating as much as talking plants. Also enjoyed her friend. My Pic's mom is Cydy, "Bloomingamyrilis". So darn cute and such fun, she kept herself busy all the time. We may have ignored her a bit spending so much time doing our thing. I have more than a few pics of her if you are interested Cydny. Beauty is just that, a really pretty gal with long flowing hair. She must have been quieter than the rest of us louder than loud...again. Help me out here as I must apologize for missing the name. Did I do better than you Skybird? Oh..and one more addition to our group. I loved him.

I have a summer place at the Jersey SHORE, don't do the "beach" and yet in the summer I live just few short blocks from the Alantic Ocean!!! Have always lived on the bay side of a barrier island which is about 7 miles long 4-5 blocks wide, dock and water just a few yards from the house. I have summered on the island all my life, grandparents build their summer home in 1928, parents built the home I now have in 1966. Love the mountains, from here in northern Delaware I could be there in a day. Have been to the Rockies and the Smokey Mountains, just beautiful places, but driving was OH MY, being the driver I had to keep my eyes open.
