First, I would try replacing your filter of the high MERV type with a standard, cheap (throw away) type. See if that solves your problem. This you can do yourself. Sometimes, those filters are too restrictive and can decrease the airflow across your evaporator coil such that the thing ices up. Second, (and you may want to consult a professional on this--definitely, absolutely cut the power to the unit first!) is to check your blower compartment and see if it is extremely dirty (or if the evaporator coil is extremely dirty). These factors can prevent adequate airflow across your evaporator coil thus increasing the likelihood that it ices up. Another good thing to check is to see if your OUTDOOR coil on your condensing unit is clean. If the thing is plugged with leaves, hair, dirt, dead grass, etc...this isn't good either. Third, you want to have a professional check your refrigerant charge on your unit. If all other factors are eliminated, an icing coil typically means low refrigerant charge. If the refrigerant charge is correct, then the thing to do as a "try" would be to have the technician (or yourself if you are so qualified) to increase your blower speed. This will decrease the likelihood that your coil ices up. Another possibility could be (unlikely) a stuck TXV valve or plugged metering orifice or a pinched lineset. Please (by all means) consult a professional if you do not feel qualified or able to do these things. A service call is only 100 bucks to check it out.

You can't do anything about the changes in volume levels as programming content changes. The station engineer has some control, but he would be fiddling with the controls all the time. It seems that the problem is with the advertizers. They do not adhere to modulation standards and like it when their recording studios pump up the volume on their clips - in other words - it was recorded that way! Here in the States, we sometimes have a little recourse by complaning to the station manager and sending a copy to the company whose ads are offenders. People have threatened to boycott stations ccarrying such obnoxious ads. It also helps to complain to the licensing authority. If you still get no attention, it may help to tip off an investigative newspaper reporter. Just make sure that the TV station and newspaper are not owned by the same company. In the inttrim, there is a work-around and that is to hit the mute button on your remote when an ad comes on, then hit mute again when you desire to resume watching. This saves wear on the volume control knob. [However, most volume controls on modern TV sets these days are digital and do not have a physical potentiometer to wear out.] Another solution is to record the show and play it back later. Use the fast forward to skip over the ads. You'll find that you wiil save a lot of time.

My suggestions.. Start small...Instead of cooking for a month...cook for 1 week or two weeks. You could also choose to do a ground beef day or ckicken day etc instead of making both on the same day. There are many ways to tweak this plan. check out all the oamc websites and this BB and read over the recipes....go through your recipes that you all normally like and you cook often. Choose the ones that will freeze well. Pick out a reasonable number of recipes. don't go overboard. For instance instead of cooking 10 separate ground beef recipes, it might be better to cook the gb and just have it frozen ready to use in different recipes. Make a shopping list... plan how to occupy your children if you have little ones on cooking day...see if you can find a buddy who is interested in helping you... Go shopping, put everything away and rest. Choose your cooking day and get ready. Day before you cook (or evening) get ready and do those things that you can get done ahead of time...like chopping onions, peppers, etc. Get something started in the crockpot...two if you have them. Get as much rest as possible. Get your utensils out and ready...pots..bowls..colanders, large spoons etc... Cooking day...Get an early start and try to cook things in order. If you are doing chicken that has to be cooked and cooled get it on right away. (Good for the night before crockpot). Very important...Clean as you go. f you have a teenager that can help...wonderful. Make a routine for yourself............

I saw a lovely kitchen on the hgtv forums that had cabinets similar to yours. Their paint color was BM 'Toasted pecan'. I liked it so much I went and got the paint strip because I was thinking about it for my kitchen (only to find we're being relocated in a month or two). It looks awfully dark on the paint strip, so I was thinking about the one up from it, 'Tuscany'. I just held that strip beside SW Whole Wheat (don't have a Tobacco Road) and either one looks like a good complement. It's a reddish-brown, "terra cotta-like", very similar to another of my favorites, BM 'Audubon Russet'. It would look great too. Tracey
