I got Mexican Hats in trade last year, and got some started a bit late, theyre FINALLY flowering. Green little cone-heads come up, I was wondering if I had them wrong.... then today, the petals! Theyre alternate with the sepals at the bottom and unfurl.

I am probably going to rake and scatter my leftover wildflower seeds into the open lot next door. We let the grasses grow up this year, and have tons of skippers, some butterflies. Amazing what a few plants can do!
