I've been growing some from seed in my shade greenhouse for a couple years awaiting hub's putting in sprinkler system before I set them out. We've had some pretty hot weather the past two year and they've been doing well. Only time will tell once sprinklers are in and they're planted out.

I think they prefer a slightly acid soil

I have a nice little colony growing in an acidic loamy spot that gets part sun on my current property. I am debating whether or not to take some with me when I move at the end of the month to the Raleigh NC area. I have a long needle pine on the property and I am thinking of putting a little clump near the pine. Of course I would do a soil test first, it's just that zone 7 is the outer limits for bunchberry and I wondering what other gardeners experiences are with this plant in warmer climates.

It may grow, but I seriosly doubt that it will set fruit. Even here in Z5, the fruit set is pretty dismal.
