I have quite a few perennials that I would like to give away to someone who would come get them. I just don't have time to pot them up and label them. I don't want anything in trade, I just hate to compost them but they've got to go making a new seating area. Many are not fancy though.... I have: Brunnera, plain green species Oriental fountain grass Hellebore seedlings, H. foetidus "stinking hellebore" Feverfew Rose campion Lamb's ears Sedum 'Autumn Joy' Squill asst white and blue Muscari, grape hyacinth, common blue one Lily of the Valley Viola odorata 'Lianne' a sweet violet cultivar Aquilegia, columbines, dark blue single flowers Unknown large growing yellow hardy waterlily

I had a question on email about what kind and size of plants to bring (but was unable to get a return email through.) Basically, any size and type of plants are welcome, as long as they are healthy plants you would want in your garden. Last year we had small and large plants, common and exotic plants. Plants from experienced gardeners, plants from relative newbies. Annuals, perennials, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, ivy, daylilies, houseplants. Most people put them in used nursery pots -- any size -- but a few were in plastic bags. Labelling the plants is helpful. Don't worry if you've never been to a swap before -- we're real informal, and you'll meet some great people.

Agreed. Take lily-of-the-valley. You may have it coming through the sidewalk. I've got maybe 10 plants, and they've been sloooowly multiplying for about 5 years. Most people don't find sweet woodruff invasive. It's a ground cover, it spreads slowly. At my house, the dog's been spreading the seed around on her feet in the springtime, and I now have large quantities in three beds. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law can't get it to grow. Things that are invasive for me I label so at swaps. That doesn't mean it will be that way elsewhere. Some people consider money plant invasive because it reseeds. Well, this year I have no money plant, and haven't been overrun in previous years.Obedient plant is invasive, but I plant it under a huge willow and I don't have a problem with it.
