Comments (1)you never got any responses.. because you posted this in the gallery did you ever post it on the discussion side??? .. if not.. do so ... ken...See MoreBird's nest spruce getting brown needles in center
Comments (2)no conifer holds it needles forever ... most browning and falling off in 1 to 3 years .. interior needles are the oldest.. its entirely normal .... unless you give us a pic and show us otherwise ... ken...See MoreBirds Nest vs Blue Nest Spruce
Comments (2)shade is impossible to describe by words .... some shade will make your glasses dark .. other shade is like a grotto ... every conifer has an annual growth rate ... e.g. a juniper that will grow 6 inches per year ... which would be in full sun .... as you decrease the intensity of the sunlight thru shade... you will reduce vigor .. which means the growth rate ... you will also.. most likely end up with a sparser plant.. rather than full and robust ... nothing will really die in shade [leaving out the dark grotto] .. it just might not perform to your expectations .. sooooo .... find something you like.. that fits the spot.. and give it a try .... and if it works it works.. and if it doesnt.. move it ...you will know within a few years ... ken...See MoreDwarf serbian spruce vs birds nest spruce vs mugo pine
Comments (18)Looks fine to me (its probably within 2-3 feet of its “ideal/perfect” spot anyways), plus it looks happy and has room to grow indefinitely (in 15++ years its skirt may bump into the fence or arborvitaes, no big deal, they widen slowly). Weeping white spruce is one of my faves, just wish they grew faster. I like what you have done and are doing with your backyard. Id like to see a pic in 5 years when your solid wall of arborvitae has filled out and with the new stuff going in front of them. A background of “wall o smaragd” for your new bed, how cool is that?! Also, how about some yellow, blue, and red, especially since the plum is going?...See MoreJon 6a SE MA
