Hi,

Just wondering if someone can confirm this plant is a Japanese Spirea (Spiraea japonica) before we eradicate it. I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but just wanted to be certain it's not a native American plant before we get rid of it.

This plant is growing in a damp, north-facing thicket area that is shaded on the south side by a building. Its companions include Japanese wineberry (Rubus phoenicolasius) which we are eradicating. There is also native raspberry, aster, and goldenrod near it.

Zone 6, PA, Northern Piedmont. Thanks in advance.
