Yellow spicebush berries

Yesterday afternoon, my wife, youngest daughter, and I waded the up the creek that forms the eastern boundary of the farm, looking for arrowheads in the gravel bars, hunting pawpaws, and picking up shellbark hickory nuts and a few buckeyes.

When I climbed the creek bank to gather some nut from one of my favorite shellbark hickories, I came across a spicebush(Lindera benzoin) which had yellow-orange berries instead of the typical red ones.

Anyone ever seen this before, and if so, does anyone have any idea how common this is?
