Anybody else have unwanted 'tourists' in their hosta gardens?

Yesterday my husband and I found a recently "deceased" copperhead snake, about one and a half feet long, in the grass right in front of our hosta garden. At first we decided that our many cats are actually good for something, but on closer examination we came to the following conclusion. Some of you may remember from my other posts that my husband broke his leg, ankle and heel in a nasty fall at work just before the 4th. Well his mother has loaned him his grandmothers motorized wheel chair so he can get around in the yard and that thing weighs a ton. Well the top half of the snake was mashed flatter than a pancake so we figure at some point he ran over the darned thing without even seeing it!
