In the 4th photo, that tree only has a single trunk, which is unlike the first tree shown in photo 1 and 2, which has multiple trunks split down low. The tree in Photo 3 and 4 also has leaves that are opposite of each other, instead of being spaced out like they are on the first tree. Is this just a variation of buckthorn? Thanks Jamie

Thank you SO much, with all these suggestions, I am looking forward to my trip more than other! I've lined up to go on the Gardenweb Garden Walk on the 9th, found a Hosta Sale on the 15th (I think) in the TC and now the Hosta place up near Alexandria is PERFECT for me, as my destination is actually that area....Battle Lake. Hostas are my new passion this year...I created a new garden last fall and thought it was mostly sun, but it turns out it's much shadier than I thought and the hostas are just thriving there...a great excuse for more! I've printed out this whole thread as well as the Garden Centers in metro area. But feel free to post more ideas! Thank you!

Thanks for the ID, Tyrlych! Both "weeds" are nice looking plants. I had no idea that the Gibasis is a plant normally cultivated.
