Looks like Baptisia to me too. It is an herbaceous perennial not a shrub and dies to the ground in the winter. Deer will eat it. In my garden at least, it is not a preferred item.

Jackie, I participate on the plant ID forum as well as the rose forums. It's fun, and really tests my brain at times, lol. This one was fairly easy. Out of the hundreds, maybe thousands of different plants I've grown, I happen to have grown an almost identical form of sparaxis. I checked my records, and the one I grew is Sparaxis 'alba maxima'. But they do NOT like my climate and behave more as annuals unless mulched heavily....which then keeps the bulbs too damp through our wet winters. I could dig and replant every season, but I don't even dig my dahlias and glads. If they survive, they survive, lol (most do!). Lovely flowers, but I have to choose my battles, and roses and figs are where I put most of my energy! Here are some more, and better photos when I googled for Sparaxis 'alba maxima'

Ladies Bedstraw is a different species of Galium on this side of the pond. G verum, which has showy yellow flowers.

well.. its not a hosta.. and based on your name. im not sure we should encourage you ... lol .. so its sitting in the same propagation chamber a year later.. and youre wondering why its not growing to specs ...i suspect it need to be potted in new media appropriate to whatever this non-hosta is .. i presume it was moved to the table for the picture.. they do look a bit etoliated ....give us info on the light it gets .. etc ... first pic.. is that the window behind.. are the shears ever opened this time of year?? .. one pick looks sodden.. one bone dry.. whats the usual??? both of us being hosta nuts.. we struggle in the house in winter .. torturing poor plants... until we find those plants that are indestructible ... and in my case that is pathos.. i highly suggest you also torture those in winter.. lol ... ken
