Help identify in Washington State

Hello,

I have not posted on this forum before (on some others occasionally though).

I am planning to start beekeeping next year and so my awareness of wild flowers is heightened this fall.

I'm curious to what a white flower might be that is blooming in Washington state. My friend there says his bees are all over it so it's important to me to know what it is to know if I have a similar opportunity this late in the season next year (or maybe a few weeks earlier since the zones are different).

He is in Washington state northeast corner..zone 5, says it looks like allysum but it is not. If it's helpful he says the bees are also currently after alfalfa and sweet grass.

Anybody? I think he'd like to know too.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) could still be blooming around here.

Oh how cute Olivia and Ben are!!! JT loved spending time with y'all, I can tell :-) She's having a diverse experience at each location! Help identifying form of Washington hawthorn

It would be helpful to see a close-up of the leaves but they appear to be a Hawthorne and quite possibly a Washington. The shape is representative of a clump form. If this was a single stem tree-form, the round shape would appear earlier. I have one of these in a single stem and it is very round and the leaves appear similiar to these leaves. This is a fine tree no matter if clump form or single stem.

The general description reminds me of Windflower (wood anemone) or Starflower, both of which grow in abundance in the woods here.

I live in the Greater Seattle Area and have the same situation as jalarse: USAA homeowners and American Modern for earthquake through USAA. There are lots of different things in bloom now, many members of the Family Asteraceae (yarrow included).

You do really need a picture.

I'm in the same area as your friend, and I can tell you there are a LOT of white flowers up here. Picture needed, definately.

From my experiences in NY State, on the other side of the country so take it for what you will...

While yarrow could still be blooming, I'd suspect that is mostly past its prime this season and not a "bee magnet." An aster or eupatorium would be my guess at this point in the season. A picture is really needed for anything more than a general guess.
