Thanks susanc - I didn't think Claytonia was quite right hence the ???? I've never seen either plant so it was just a guess. The Crassula is a very curious little character.

dang fleabane...thanks. pilewort, eh? I wonder what I should do with it? I googled it and the flowers seem like they could be pretty. Or do you think it would it be a mistake to keep it?

Hi Nikki, Nice looking plant, but pls. read up here in mixes & soils for Crassulas (Jades) as that needs work; it need to be made more gritty & less peaty so as to be faster draining (what these plants need). What one needs to post pix here is a photohosting site like Photobucket or Flicker (both free) & post there first & then copy & paste the 3rd line of code here.

HAhaha...okay thanks Brad. Going to confess 'morganian' sounded very cool. Harry- I actually drove back just now (have the rental to myself today) and asked, the vendor says it's actually a "pine tree jade" which I googled and I'm guessing means crassula tetragona. She said it was big and then it got eaten by "a spider" or maybe she meant spider mites so she had to cut it back severely. So thaaat's how they look in the beginning... ewwmayo- after reading the other thread about how important airflow is for keeping succulents pest free...I'm beginning to take this airflow factor more seriously. I can do gritty and dry top dressing (probably chicken grit) but yeah airflow is gonna be a problem since I keep all my plants up against a window that's never opened (and if opened..will lower the temps too much). I could get a fan (eh...with winter coming...). I like how evenly sized your leaves are! You didn't try cutting the top off did you? Just asking because the succulents.us website page said for c. morgan's beauty: "Cutting tops makes new your plants and parent plants fuller." <--Not really sure what that means and this plant is so tightly packed it would probably be a bad idea for me to try anything advance with this. Nice, intense color on your lithops, I'm glad I learned this fact about them. I think it's strange for plants to have different patterns despite being the same type. Random story: So I was browsing through the same plant vendor where I got the p. oviferum and lithops, and been eyeing this small astrophytum asterias specimen (2" wide), the actual shopkeeper wasn't there, the lady working was a sort of fill-in person and so I asked her how much for that, she said oh I don't know...maybe $5? Maybe $3? I was thinking "whaaaaa I don't think so" and then she texted the actual owner who said oh it's $9. "Shoulda taken me on that other offer eh?" Felt kinda bummed because of that follow-up comment- lol did she really want me to reverse-price gouge her? Then I was wondering if I would have actually tried to...ah dilemmas.. And okay yes I know $9 is not the end of the world but it was for a tiny one..AND it was sitting next to another asterias that was rotten. Didn't get it. Went back to this other store that I got the morgan's beauty and c. ovata tricolor from and got two small pots of....Haworthia retusa...and some sort of liliput gasteria variegated..
