Need Help Identifying a Sierra Mountain Wildflower

Can anyone help me identify what flower this might be?

I'm creating a photo album and would like to have a positive identification, or at least the genus, of the wildflowers in my photos.

The picture was taken on 7/28/08 on the John Muir/Pacific Crest Trail in the Sierra Mountains near or at the Tully Hole area (approximately 9500-10,000ft.)

If it's not possible to identify the exact species, I'd still be interested in learning what possible genus this wildflower might belong to. I am also interested in any common names.

The deeply cleft petals reminds me of one of the Epilobium sp. (Fireweed).
CalPhotos should have photos of all the native ones.
Check the link for the Sierra species.

Chamerion angustifolium I believe (a close relative of Epilobium).

Thanks! Very helpful. I think the area where I saw it was planted with a "wildflower mix" at some point, as it has some plants other plants that don't look to be native.

sorry about the photo but it is not a pic I have taken so that is the best I can do at the moment. I think my friend who posted the picture originally only has the one photo. When asked for a picture of the leaves she simply posted a closeup of the same leaf!
