I would love to know what this flower is. Help?

A neighbor gave me some seedlings of this plant. It reseeds every year, loves full sun, grows about 6 inches tall, and flowers all summer. The flowers are about the size of a dime. My sister thought it could be some variant of arnica but we've not found one that matches.

Can somebody identify this? My neighbor has no idea what they are, either.

It is Melampodium, not native to the U.S. (and I mention that because this is the native plant forum). It is a good little re-seeder, I agree.

It is definitely honeysuckle. I transplanted a couple tiny plants of it from my folks' home in KY to my home in IL. I planted both plants next to an unused telephone pole. The vines have grown to the top of the pole! Looks like some type of tree ent almost LOL. It is a highly invasive plant. If we couldn't mow around it, I doubt I'd grow it, because it truly would take over the yard! I completely love the scent of it though. It is one of my all-time favorites!

I can't help you with identification but I saw the other picture your daughter took as well and wanted to say that she has a beautiful eye for pictures! Those are one of the many strawflowers (everlastings, paper daisies, etc.) I've not grown them myself, but I expect that they are pretty easy. Look up 'strawflower seeds' for many on line sources for seeds. If you get any seed catalogs, you'll find them listed with the annuals.

Thanks esh_ga! Hey, on Wikipedia it says it is native to USA.

I posted here because of our wondering if it was a variation of arnica which is native, too.

I do appreciate the assist.

Hard to say - Floridata says that Melampodium divaricatum is from areas south of here such as Central America.

But certainly it has cousins that are native to the US.

Thanks kaliaman. Must be migrating north, you know - global warming! I see it is ordinarily native to Florida. My neighbor here in Cary NC has had it growing "wild" for years and I hope mine will reseed next year. It's a great plant. Produces constant blooms.
