Keep up with the sluggo....every slug that dies before laying eggs is that many fewer next year.
Slug eggs look like little round 'Beads....rather like the granules in timed release fertilizer.
Spread more sluggo....they do eat it up

I did not note any slug damage on my plants via large holes, but did my second treatment anyway this year of all hostas using Ortho Bug Getta, 1/3 price of Sluggo. Slugs must have waited to feast on that stuff, saw a lot of glistening slime this morning.
I did not see holes in leaves, but some hostas had leaf stems partially cut at ground level. Around those hostas I found most of the slime. Allright, got those!

I noticed that with using Bug Getta the general population of slugs has significantly decreased. The years before I had slugs crawling up onto paths, this year I only see dead slugs around hostas, that is after they ate the pellets, and what is left of them.

With Sluggo, you don't get dead bodies. I don't know where they go, but they go away to die. We have large snails and slugs here and when I use the Bug Getta I get piles of slimy shells and shrunken bodies, as they come in to devour each other. I use the cheaper stuff under my broadleaf evergreens and vinca minor where I don't worry about asthetics. I have to use slug bait weekly here.

when you do not see dead slugs (which dry up rapidly) when using Sluggo how do you know that you had slugs? With BugGetta I see the results right there and will adjust the next spreading of pellets accordingly - few or more. This is exactly how insecticides are dispensed against other damaging insects or plant diseases, you want to see the before and after.

Slug eggs can vary in color. Here's a good pic from the "Garden Clinic" Forum. A search there should find more.

I would know if I saw something grouped together like that, but I have never seen eggs in clusters as the picture shows, although I do see plenty of slugs.

Only the east side of my garden seems to have perpetual slug problems. I don't have a camera right now to show pictures, but the hostas look like they are spattered with tiny holes, and some like my Liberty and Atlantis don't have any problems at all.

I can still see the pellets when I last spread Sluggo, so I am guessing that rain/water makes it ineffective. Is that right? We have had a lot of rain -- nearly every other day, and it's raining again tonight. I hoped that I could eliminate the pest problem this year so that I have a clean garden next year.

I put sluggo down them left for vacation for a week. I came back to a holy mess. If I can find it I will only buy Ortho's Geta-bug. It works.
