I would like a couple crowns to get a bed going. I have a few things to trade... lots of unnamed hosta in green/white and solid green a white peony that has been passed down in the family from my great, greatgrandmother thornless rapsberries some Aunt Molly's ground cherry seedlings I started black-eyed susans tomato seedlings I started PLMK if interested.

PS I also have asters and some Goldenrod.

If you can move them without disturbing the soil containing their roots they should bloom yet. If the soil is dry or sandy enough to fall off the roots they will go into shock and the time required for recovery will probably prevent them from blooming in time. Al

They're very similar to BES seedlings, except for a few distinctions. Purple coneflowers are more slick/shiny, not hairy like the BES; also they often have a pinkish stem, just above soil level. I have a mixed bed of BES and purple coneflowers, and those are the two chief differences between their seedlings, to my eyes. I'm trying to weed out the purple coneflowers, as they're just a little too aggressive for that particular bed. But, I fear I may have lost a few black-eyed susans along the way...
