Another mint

Hi again,

Some of you were helpful before in identifying Lamium galeobdolon before. I'm hoping to return to the fount of plant knowledge.

We have this growing up like, well, a weed underneath our trees.

* It has a square-ish, but not exactly square stem

* slight hairs (feels smooth, but hairs visible on closeup). * grows on individual roots rather than vines, and stays 6" or less in height.

* Leaves are opposite, but asymmetrical in size.

Any ideas? We're trying to decide whether to let it take over (and crowd out things like poison ivy) or whether to try to check its growth.

Also, any suggestions for identifying plants by their leaves? Most of my sources focus on flowers.

Thanks,

Jeff Cagle
