I know this post is pretty old, but I'd love some monk's hood if you have any more. I unfortunately don't have any of the plants you requested here. I have several species of euphorbia, Senecio cylindricus, African sumac, Argintin mesquite, two types of wandering jew and possibly something else if I look around. Please let me know if you have any more and if you'd like to trade.

Oh forgot I also have a wild S. juncea too (early Goldenrod) which blooms earlier than the other goldenrods. I like all of them, but think that S. speciosa is the prettiest. Except mine are floppy because they're not in full sun, of which I have very little in this yard. S. nemoralis also likes full sun, but mine is doing okay in part sun. S. caesia is my 2nd favorite, with those pretty purply stems, and it grows in dry shade, a big plus when you have lots of big trees! None of these are super aggressive as they grow in clumps that just get bigger, but don't spread by rhizomes. I have a few deer and the only one they have munched on (that I've noticed) is S. caesia. But they just munch the tips and this one actually does well with some pinching. If you're looking for deer resistance and aggressive spreading, including reseeding, then go for S. canadensis! It's coarse plant though. I think that Solidago gigantea is another large aggressive spreader. Both of those are native to your area too.

Camp, I know how you feel about the short sidedness of the preserve runners. They have here in Texas established programs where one hill County rancher grew MANY and sent out some extremely rare Texas Snow bell , Styrax platanifolious sip. tetanus to ranchers with habitat in the adjoining watershed first and then they worked outwards in its historical range. Supposedly it is here in my county but very endangered. It would grow in my canyon, but I have not found a source that I can get a plant from. I should look again. That was several years back that I tried. They brought back Salvia penstemonoides from the brink of extinction and now you see it in many nurseries (in Texas) and countless salvia seed sites. It is still endangered in the wild , but not gardens. It got down to tiny 2 populations.Unfortunately the populations are along river banks that are prime vacation house land on a pristine river. My sister grows a angelica in Alaska. It gets HUGE. like 8' and takes over her yard. She gardens a out of control garden fun of raucous color. I will ask her to collect some seed. Usually she butchers them for cut flowers (gargantuanly immense in a vase)before they seed.

Dodecatheon has been moved to Primula since 2007. They are now in section Dodecatheon in Primulaceae. These are the Shooting Stars. Primula media with rare mixed color flowers. Taken in a black dirt prairie. They kind of look more like a Cyclomen than an English daisy. I learned about plants(especially native plants) from a gardening neighbor who was a retired schoolteacher. Her name was Thelma Smith. She had a true native wildflower garden, and the Shooting Star in her garden was in the center getting *STAR* treatment. They have always held a lofty place in my heart ever since. Primula media with Mertensia virginica. My garden. Primula frenchii, French's Primrose. Endemic to my state of Illinois. It is rare and listed, and it only grows at the bases of cliffs in southern Illinois. Primula frenchii growing where it likes to grow. French's Primrose also occurs in Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama and Missouri. We do have one Primrose that is more like the old world species. I believe this species is an ice age relic, and it's needs are more specialized than those of Primula frenchii. This is Primula mistassinica, Bird's Eye Primrose. This would be a lifer to see in person. Illinois is the southern limit of it's range. Bird's Eye Primula also occurs in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, New Hampshire and up into Canada. This is Hottonia inflata, Primulaceae. An aquatic member of the family. The common name is Featherfoil. Another Illinois endemic. Not in genus Primula but really cool looking. Hottonia inflata, Featherfoil, Primulaceae This is the final native Primula that I can grow in Illinois, Primula amethystinum, Amethyst Shooting Star. It has a weird distribution, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsyvania and West Virginia. There are an additional 10 Primula/Dodecatheon species in the western states
