If it truly was the "best damned worm composting place" we would not be unpaid slaves working to fill somebody else's pockets with traffic for ad money. But other than that I agree. There is a tribe somewhere where when the men come back from hunting they do not walk into camp noisy and triumphantly. They sit around the outside of the camp a bit away for a day or so observing. Then when they are back in the rhythm of the camp and know they would not be disturbing it they quietly return. Possibly it is enthusiasm that stops this procedure of looking around for a couple of minutes before bursting with excitement for the topic. I'd say growing into the name is still a work in progress. "1/2 pound and would require around 4 oz of food, but they didn't say how often" is a play on "worms eat their weight in food a day". But with a bit of tempering because that figure is under optimal conditions. It also fails to mention or consider bedding which is of equal or really more importance. Does the 4 oz include bedding which the worms also eat? Please ask the source of that information for me because I have always been confused. With out knowing anything about your bin or even seeing it I can categorically say add half the amount of food you are presently and tripple the bedding. Time is your friend. The worms will work for you, (as we do for this site), just sit back and let the multiply and in time collect your easily gained vermicastings or worm babies. *horrified face at worm babies. The scratch is a brass-color and the entire lamp is magnetic, except for the finial. Thanks for reminding me of the magnet trick! I used to carry one in my wallet for testing "brass" until it wiped out a couple of credit cards. My husband says he thinks it is steel, with brass-plating on the base. (Though why someone would brass-plate the base and not the rest, I don't know.) I've never seen steel used like this in a lamp, but then again, I haven't seen everything ... or maybe I have, now. The man has no soul. He suggested taking it to an auto body shop and having it powdercoated in candy-apple red. I hope his tongue was in his cheek. I think I'll follow LInda's suggestion and spray it with lacquer once it's cleaned up, then take it to the electrician. This is not the kind of thing I would rewire myself. I've ordered a wire candelabra-lamp frame to cover -- just have to pick out fabrics for it. Lazyg, I'll see if I can get a shot of the whole fireplace. It' ll have to wait until tomorrow, when there's more light. The surround and hearth are English handmade tiles with glass tile accents -- not too expensive, since it's a small space, and the tile has a lot of impact. We remodeled this room recently. What? No one noticed the beautiful cat? I couldn't keep him away from the camera.

They started at 6pm on the dot! I had 100 pieces of candy, handed out one per child, and had run out by 7:10, with 50 minutes still to go! I had seriously underestimated what I would need, but it had been a few years (either at work, or Covid the past 2) and I had forgotten how much I used to buy. T&T is big in my neighborhood! I do have to say that I don't think I had ever seen so many parents with very young toddlers who could barely walk or talk sending them up to get candy... it was a bit surprising to me. ETA: we do think that we have several groups who come in from other parts of the metro area, because our neighborhood has the reputation of being fun and friendly, but they are no problem at all. Occasionally we have a issue with (usually a) parent who is inappropriate - grabbing handfuls of candy or even stealing a bowl.

How old is the house? How old is the HVAC system? The duct system etc? Most HVAC contractors aren't going to "touch" a system (to move it or whatever), then they get blamed when it doesn't work / and or if there are performance issues now --- that even you may not know fully yet. These are the kinds of things that fall into the realm of "money is no object" meaning new system / bells whistles etc. OR you find someone desperate which in turn may make you desperate if they make a mess of your system. (air flow, mechanical and otherwise all these things play a part and even more so if you live in a more extreme climate -- Hot or Cold) From the picture it doesn't look like the move is a big one, but a flat diagram just doesn't provide the detail that in person view would show. Given that this is a new home (at least for you) it wouldn't be a bad idea, if you go thru with this purchase to begin your search for a trustworthy Licensed HVAC contractor in your area. (which is a mouthful these days -- for a variety of reasons -- the big one is that HVAC is in the cusp of going thru some dramatic changes.) I service the Katy, Texas area.
