One of my Sycamores is covered with the yellow wilted leaves caused by this fungus, it has some kind of beetle that is boring the trunk heavily, I am afraid that we will lose it in the next few years.
Any suggestion for a fast growing native tree that I can plant near this tree, that would be a nice companion in case it lives, but be part of a replacement planting in case it has to be removed? I'd prefer a deciduous tree. The deciduous oaks don't do very well here. Not enough cold.
I'll go with an evergreen if I have to, but not Montery pine besause we get ocassional high winds where we would site this tree.
This is impossible isn't it?
