Transplantation of Trillium erectum (Red trillium)

In my new woodland garden, a number of red trilliums have sprung out in the middle of the path and in the middle of the building site of a terrace. I cannot wait until fall to transplant them, no longer than mid-June (they are presently in their third week of blooming).

I am just transplanting them a few meters at worst, in the same woodland, where other trilliums have already grown. So the choc should be minimum. Still, trilliums are known to be sensitive and the transplantation time is not the best.

As anyone have some advice as to what to consider or what to do to increase the chance of success?

Thank you.

Diana
