Couch grass, Elymus repens, is also known as Quack Grass, Quick grass, Witch grass, and others not printable, but I have never heard it called Bermuda grass, before. It spreads by both seeds and rhizomes and the common plant poisons do not do a good job of controlling it, or it would not need repeated applications to attempt to control it. The best means of getting rid of this pesky "weed" is to dig it out getting all of the root bits and pieces. kimmq is kimmsr

Really?? Wow, never would have guessed! And interesting it can attract leaf miners, maybe I should move this closer to my squash since they have gotten a few leaf miners. I take it the chenopodium isn't seeding yet? Lol, if I can't tell it's in bloom I get the feeling I will miss the seeds. As for the second one, I guess we'll have to see since I've not seen any buds on it. Only nice thing about both is, the squirrels have left them alone.

I think I would leave a couple, few 'weeds' 🙄 around as an alternate host plant for tomato hornworms, but what's more interesting is this complex. I need to read up on it. Will it lead to splitting? When I set the hornworms loose on them, that's when they become weeds lol.
