Spread of Ceanothus ovatus (Red Root)?

Have three of these to plant but have been unable to find information about their mature width...none of my books or internet searches have been any help. I expect they will be 2-3 feet tall but am not sure how far apart to plant them. If similar to Ceanothus americanus (New Jersey Tea) I would plant them 2 feet apart. Anyone have any experience/advice? Will cross post to the shrubs forum also, it seems to be uncommon in the nursery trade.
