THERE ISNT ANOTHER 'TO DIE FOR HOSTA' I REALLY NEED .... key word.. need .. lol ... i have to note.. that i already replaced some of those listed thru trading .... but it isnt reflected here ... because the new one went in a new bed ..... after i get thru all the bed lists.. i will run a straight alpha .... to see what i really have .... anyone interested in replacing some of the lost ones.. let me know in july or later.. and maybe we can do some trading .... i attribute losses to two things ... still battling promix/peat disease from the move .... apparently if you put a pot of peat based media into sand... the sand wicks all the moisture out of the peat .. and the hosta might die... mostly smalls.. big hosta seem to grow right out of the peat ... on other words widely divergent soil types are extremely problematic .... but when you have 1600 pots to plant.. its not like you can give each one the TLC they need ... even 8 years later ... also.. with drip irrigation .... if one or two drippers plug near a single plant.. i will not know it isnt getting water.. until the plant is in decline .... and this is complicated by the promix above .... and third.. i just dont care ... as the kids get older.. time with them is more important ... i think that answers it all ken

Jon, I'm living in Upper Franconia, the former border was only 20 km away. Now we are in the middle of Germany:-) It is a pleasant region, very green and no big cities around (thanks to the border). If you're interested just google Küps, that's where I live, very small, only 8.000 inhabitants. The beer is famous here, unfortunately I prefer a glass of red:-) Maybe twenty years ago every little village had it's own brewery, you would have liked it! Hi all thanks, sorry I was not clear. In the first pic there are three hosta- The hosta at the top in the first picture was purchased as Warwick comet, its young first year. I know that there is a small piece of luna moth that wound up planted tucked into the mystery /unknown plant. (Early in the spring an animal uprooted a brunch of plants and when I put them back in the ground I must have joined these two. I will need to move them apart this fall) For the second picture the name lakeside prophesy does ring my memory bell. Yeah! one down. For the first picture another name that came to mind while looking around was the queen, I may need to wait a bit more to see how this plant looks later this summer. Thanks all for your help, this forum has the best experts when Id'ing and I appreciate it.
