I wore my mothers prom dress to a party once...she must have been quite a floozy (mom are you reading this?) it's a HOT dress LOL I mostly wear mid 30's or 40's formal wear so I have a lot of that (ok I did when I was skinny...I have to get back because I won't give the stuff up). Bias cut and a curvy figure are two good friends that never should be separated by a big arse :oP My oldest clothing item...sheesh probably a mid 1850's young man's riding coat. I bought it thinking that with a pair of skinny jeans and a white silk blouse (it's deep green wool and black velvet) I was gonna stop traffic. Turns out I probably would have...the gap between the shoulders is so slim that when I put it on it required me to push my shoulders backwards to avoid ripping a seam, which then thrust the girls out in a "come hither" gesture only made by professionals....I still have that danged coat and the likelyhood that I will ever be smaller than a six with an a cup is relatively slim....well I should let that coat go but the idea of that coat still lives whenever I open my closet door :) I'm holding onto my maternity wardrobe from last year when I lost the twins :( I had purchased it just a day earlier and I should let that go. My oldest and worn regularly item is a fabulous 1920's opera cape which I wear a dozen times or more a year to formal events. Silk velvet, heavy wool lining and satin finish. It has a huge collar that you wear up high around your neck (wonderful for up doo's) and fastens with a fabulous art deco clip on each side. I love that cape :) It's been to the opera in Vienna, theatre in Paris and more parties in Alaska than most non fur capes :OP I hope to pass it down to someone some day.

The vivienne files has a lovely aqua and black capsule wardrobe, Maire cate! I am decidedly not a size zero, so you may well be Impressed at the number of garments in the bag :-) I am not a roller, I tried that method once or twice and it was a hot mess to get things out--- any time you want an item you have to completely unpack and repack. If I am staying in a hotel longer than one night I unpack almost completely, hanging everything and putting other things in drawers. But I usually use the packing cube thingies from Eagle Creek and ebags. I will use a medium or large zippered packing bag for all my slacks, another for all the tops, a small cylindrical one for undies and socks, another for scarves, etc. that way when I want a shirt I can just take that cube out and not disturb everything else. I put these cubes in drawers as is unless something would benefit for being hung up. Alternatively, if we are going on a trip requiring a lot of dressing up, I will pack complete outfits individually in those space bag thingies. That way I have not only the clothes, but the stockings, shoes, jewelry, any special underwear, etc. in one package. Those are the bags you ziplock and then roll it up to,squeeze all the air out, then unroll it to lie very flat. It's amazing how unwrinkled clothes are when packed in those space bags!

BFenton, yes, that purse is a Coach bag. It's the "Borough Bag in Retro Glove Tan Leather." The logo on the front is very small. The Coach name is also engraved on the metal part of the zipper pulls (and there are three of them on this particular bag), but you have to be real close to the bag to be able to read them. The Coach name is not all over the inside of the bag -- there is the standard Coach Creed "tag" that is sewn into the inside but you have to be "digging" into the bag to see it. Other than that, their name isn't anywhere else. This style has been discontinued, so you'd have to call a Coach store or their customer service number to see if they still have any available. It came in several different colors of leather. Original retail price was $598 but if they still have any they would be on sale by now.
