Native plant sales in SE PA

Here is a link for Yellow Springs Farm-just found out about this place myself. Can't wait to get my gardens filled with native plants. They are having a few sales in May that are open to the public I believe. Check it out:

Tyler Arboretum (Media, PA) is having a plant sale this weekend - not all natives, but usually a goodly selection of them.

There's also Redbud Native Plant Nursuries in Middletown, PA, open all the time except Mondays. I have also been to a few native plant sales sponsored by the Delaware Riverkeeper's (sale moves around) and the Natural Lands Trust (Media, PA). Also, the Brandywine Conservancy (Chadds Ford) typically has a native plant sale one of the first two weekends in May.

Not sure when they're having their sales this year, but you could check websites to see. Redbud has spoiled me, though. I have to drive by it every day on my way to my son's school! T-E-M-P-T-A-T-I-O-N!

jillmcm, I love that place redbud!! Two more for your list Bowman's Wildflower Preserve and Bartrams garden May 6th and 7th William Cullina will be at Bartrams on the 6th. But Bowman's has spectacular plants!! Sarah

Are you looking for some thing in particular? Most of the plant sales are done for the summer. There was a craft fair in Coral Springs in March.. They have had a gardening area the past few years with clubs and organizations represented. Some of the farmers markets have plants but those too are coming to a close for the season. Flamingo gardens in Davie has events like pepperpoloosa in the fall and a pumpkin festival. Their website has news. Tropic plants in Tamarac has a orchid festival in February-ish plus they are a good source of information. Morikami in Boyton is outstanding for inspiration and they have a fair (Hatsume) based on the moon so you have to watch their website, too. In the Friday newspaper, you will find a listing of community events coming up. I don't know if Coconut Creek has a gardening group. Coral Springs does though, if you want to meet up with other like minded people. I am not a member, just see them out from time to time.

Phooey - I'm in Boston that weekend. But I think I'm going to visit Garden in the Woods, so it won't be all bad :)
