Mine are in full, glorious bloom. My DH digs them out of the turf when they jump his arbitrary boundry. I think he should yank up the turf and give them their rein to go where they wish. Funny you should bring up the topic. I picked a bouquet in miniature of them yesterday and could find no appropriate container in a scale what would not make them look out of proportion, and then finally found an antique medicine bottle and stuck them up on a kitchen windowsill out of direct sunlight. The whole half of my large kitchen is scented with their aroma, and it is one of the most pleasant floral scents I know. That, and honeysuckle and lilacs and roses, and four o'clocks, and lilium longaflorum........oh well. They stink pretty. You are right, that genuine scent is hard to duplicate in a perfume, and only a few of the very good French fragrances come close, and not lately since they have changed fixatives. My L.O.V.s tend to move outward in their shade beds toward better light. It takes a long while for a new planting of them to get settled in, and thick..........but when they do, they are as regular as rain.

It may need to be repotted with (new) well draining soil. If the water drains right through and does not seem to be absorbing, I would try to give it new soil with some perlite. And I would also check to see if it has become root bound, in which case consider a bigger pot. If you notice that the roots appear rotted, it may have gotten too much water at some point in the past. If the plant has been in the container for more than a year, check to see if needs to be moved to a larger container (if roots are corcling) but it would not hurt to also check if it needs more fertilizer. Peace lilies are quite tough and have few problems: they need indirect bright light or bright shade or they may bloom poorly; if the leaf margins yellow out, add some iron and magnesium as levels of these may be low in the soil; on the other hand, if the leaf margins are browning out, they may be getting too much water or too much fertilizer; you can use insecticidal soaps or neem oil if you see insects and other pests.
