To the bottom left is the all green form of Sea Prize. To the right of that is American Sweetheart. City Lights to the back and some voodoo lilies. Wolf Eyes kousa dogwood to the left.

An open pollinated seedling from Delta Pride that I need to move. It gets swallowed up by my Elegans and Lakeside Premiere.

You guys are too kind. Thank you. Karin, I have had a terrible time trying to find the right plants for around that pond. I ended up with some tried and true southland plants. The background plants are nandinas. I have three big green phormiums, one to each side of the waterfall and one up against Mikey's office. There is a Giant Bird of Paradise and blue agaves that are far too large and out of scale for the size of the pond. Five phoenix roebellinis, one in a barrel with wire plant. Sword ferns are all around the waterfall, which has a gold duranta, some papyrus, and a Ming Asparagus fern behind it. There is one Wheeler's Dwarf pittosporum, a Sprenger asparagus fern in a pot and three on sticks, and some lilies, irises, and Louisiana irises planted here and there. There is variegated ivy on one side, and acorus here and there. I just planted three carexes, and there is some zoysia grass out there too. Whew. It's a dog's breakfast of plants! The zoysia is very slow growing, but it's pretty. I think that's the grass you like. No female dogs on the zoysia! Renee

I am so happy to see your pictures again! I was here back then, but mostly lurking, which I still do a lot because I am not very good about id-ing my plants since the dogs destroyed my labels and I gave up There are a few I know the names of, but not too many. You were one of my secret mentors when I started my hosta planting! I am sorry your 'When I Dream' was a disappointment, but there is so much to love about your gardens! Thank you for that!!!

Very short driveway, and that safety orange cone by the boulder? Does that remind anyone backing out of the garage to be careful? :) And Don, it was no less than what I expected to find in any garden you touched, or really any project you set yourself to accomplish. Great detail in the use of white to define the hardscape. Love the shape of that arbor, breaking away from always straight lines one comes to expect with wood structures. Honestly, do you do all this work, including maintenance, yourself? Do you have hired help? How large is your garden anyway, to have all these well laid out non-cramped beds. Did you landscape it, because it is very professional looking. And, I've lost my way to THE LISTS....where are they now? I know some were moved to Pieterje's site, or so I think, and I cannot find it. Looking for the THEME GARDENS specifically. Need to submit a few more. I now have the HOSTA FINDER to browse through, need to see your lists. Sorry if it is off topic a bit, but I was going to email you with this question, and here you post, so......excuse please? (but where is it)

That view from the third floor would make me happy every time I looked out! Look at how many plants you've brought in. I also see lots of nice flowers in pots and what looks like a Rodgersia that looks pretty big. I can imagine that you're creating more interest in gardening when your neighbors see what you've accomplished. Your hostas look good and healthy. I also plant close, and this spring I moved some only because they were getting completely covered up by bigger hostas, and one that was blocking a sprinkler when it grew taller than I anticipated. The good news is they didn't skip a beat. Now I feel better about crowding them because they can be moved later. There's always a way to justify squeezing in some more hostas. ;-) It looks like you have lots of room for expansion if you wanted to. Do you need that grass where you have the rectangular bed in the middle? If not, I would make a walking/working path with some stepping stones and spread the gardens into where the grassy area is now. It looks like you have a nice walkway area already with some more grass to the left. ....Just a thought. I'm figuring out how to rework a portion of my garden, so that's where my head is at right now.

Beautiful, Tim. I especially love your Party Favor x Grey Piecrust hybrids. The Big Mama x OP seedlings you gave me are doing just fine, btw. I'll make sure to get pics of 'em the next time I'm out with the camera. Thanks again for sharing.

Very nice. I like Savannah. Your Key West looks good. How long have you had it? Mine is in its third season and only has about 8 leaves, though big ones. I'm finding it very slooooow. Patience, patience.

Key West is probably in its 5th year. It leapt last year and took another big one this year.
