Hi - first-year vegetable gardener here (and new to the forums as well). I've been growing herbs in pots for a few years, but finally decided to upgrade. I just built some boxes and hope to plant vegetables (and herbs) this year. This being my first go-round, I don't have any seedlings, but I bake and can bring some breads/muffins/cookies to swap. Would this be an appropriate course of action?

It was a great day, though the weather was way too hot that day. I had folks from all over VA, some from MD, DE and even one up from NC. I've been contemplating hosting another this year. I'll post in the exchange like last year if I do. I guess I'd better decide quick if it's to be for spring ;) Otherwise, my yarden is always open if you're down this way. I'm not sure but I don't think the house will count as an asset.When I put my dad in a nursing home he was allowed to keep the house and their vehicle.His SS check went to the nursing home for his care but Mother still got her SS check every month.Medicare pays for the nursing home for I think 60 days then Medicaid picks it up from there.I think when the house sells the money would be considered an asset and would go toward the nursing home care.You can check all that out with the SS department or even one of the local nursing homes.They should be able to tell you what you need to know.You might also consider finding an in home caregiver.If you plan to take care of them in your home yourself I strongly recommend getting outside help if only part time.
