old roses that do well in DC Maryland VA

Hi,

I live in Washington, DC and I'm thinking about the following roses. Does anyone have any experience with how they do here? Paricularly, disease resistance and blooming pattern, size in this area rather than what you read in the books.

The Fairy (I'm thinking about 3x3)

White Pet (I'm thinking about 3x3)

Rose de Rescht (I'm thinking about 3-3.5 tall)

Mme. Alfred Carrie (I'm hoping 20+ feet and that it can handle 1/2 day sun)

Marie Pavie (I'm thinking about 3x3)

I'm also thinking about the following:

Schneekoppe

Summer Bouquet

Heritage

Sophies Rose

John Clare

Gertrude Jeckle

Cottage Rose (or any other medium pink small Austin climber).

Last year I planted:

Sombriel

Comte de Chambord

Zepherine Drouhin

The Sombriel was gorgeous. It's growning very vigorously and had almost no disease until it got a tiny bit of blackspot in late November. I'm really looking forward to seeing it this year.

The Comte de Chambord was a disaster. It was covered with blackspot seemingly forever. Looked horrible. I pulled it and sent it off to the Fort Totten dump.

The Zepherine Droughin was surprisingly healthy. Everything I read suggested that it would be white with mildew, but no. Then again, it's in full sun. I'm moving it to an area with 1/2 day sun. I bought it because I need a climber that can deal with some shade. So I'll be interested to see if it stays as healthy this year.
