Happy Valentine's Day from 'sunny' SoCal where it is snowing in Ramona (elev 2000')! Unheard of but we actually have a good 4" on the ground and it's still falling. I know those in northern states are saying what's the big deal? Well for here it is! We only get 7"-9" of rain in a good year. I don't think this will hurt my VdB which broke dormancy last month. I have 7 of my fig trees out doors. Only the one has broken dormancy but I'm sure they will be OK. We are supposed to be back in the 60's tomorrow. Since I'm at work and my snow chains are at home, I'll be staying elsewhere tonight as the hill home is too steep to make with snow. Talk about unexpected! Sue

Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Gwen, I think you are the BEST for recommending the Hobby sealing iron aka mini iron to me. Since I am PPing - it is sitting out (just like everything else-heehee) and a reminder of how great the people on this forum are to each other. A simple posting about using a product "thinking outside the box" definitely has made my life easier. Thanks again. We are supposed to get more snow as well :-( In our newspaper today: Our yearly average is 18.2" - we are at 79.9" and more to come.(Buffalo averages 89"per year by comparison.) You see why we are struggling with all this snow. I've shoveled everything, got out Friday to the LQS for part of their sale - their big sale is ruined for them - and even sewed some - so I am back to being good :) Our silly Governor extended Valentine's Day until Feb 21st. Like that's a big help.

Jo, you are so sweet... I'm no better at this than the next guy. This has worn my emotions to a frazzle. Yeah, OK, I like doing this stuff, but I really didn't do any of it. I just bugged people enough that they started lending their creative talents. Then those same people became engaged because of my enthusism, I guess. But, I was lucky enough to have the great minds of those people. Funny though, I tell people all the time about your knowledge and wisdom, and how you have helped so many on this and other Forums with you great ideas - including me. I think we all have our finer points. I learned so much over my 53+ years, just by hanging out with folks like you, Eloise, Michael, and just about everyone here. I just hope that I am able to teach another, as the saying goes. BTW, I'm so happy to be of this gender too!! My dad walked, when I was 12, and left my mother, my sister and myself to figure it out along the way. (that's the same dad I'm trying to take care of in MI, mind you!!) I have to say, Mom was a phenominal woman, and I bow to her for passing on her strength and courage to keep on keeping on. Oh yeah, I couldn't get the box in the house either - plenty of help there. Like I said, truly blessed, I am. Lots of hugs...,and miles of smiles!! gng
